About Blindspot Media

Built around the belief that
every story deserves to be told well.

Blindspot Media is a founder-led creative photo and video studio serving nonprofits, businesses, and organizations that have something worth saying.

Why Blindspot?

The name came from a dream.

One night, Billy dreamed about a logo — four dots in a simple grid. Two gray dots on the left, one red dot on the top right, and one gray dot on the bottom right. In the dream, the red dot carried a clear sense of purpose: it represented what people cannot see about themselves. The calling behind it was to help others recognize what they were missing, see more clearly, and move forward.

He woke up, grabbed a piece of paper, sketched exactly what he had seen, and put it in a drawer. It sat there for two years.

When the time came to start a production company, he needed a name. He remembered the dream. Later, he connected it to the Johari Window — a model with four quadrants representing what we know and do not know about ourselves. In that model, the blind spot sits in the top right: what others can see, but you cannot.

The logo was already drawn. The name was already there.

That idea is at the core of everything we do.

Most organizations are doing work that matters, but the world does not always know it. Donors may not see the impact. Communities may not realize the story exists. Clients may not understand what you actually do or why it matters.

That space between the work being done and the world being able to see it — that is the blindspot.

We exist to help fill it.

Billy Altman

Creative Director

Billy Altman is a self-taught photographer and videographer with over a decade of experience telling stories through a lens. What started as a natural instinct — grabbing a camera, finding the shot, seeing what others walked past — became a craft he took seriously after a professional photographer at a conference stopped him, looked at his work, and asked him to join the team. That moment lit something. Photography led to video, and video led to a conviction: that the stories worth telling most are often the ones nobody is telling yet. Billy brings a creative director's eye and a storyteller's instinct to every project, whether he's on location with a nonprofit in the field or producing brand content for a corporate client.

Billy and his wife Rebecca are full-time missionaries in the United States, and that calling shapes everything about how Blindspot Media operates. He doesn't show up to fill a purchase order — he shows up to understand what you're trying to say, why it matters, and who needs to hear it. Clients don't just get deliverables. They get a partner who genuinely cares whether the work does what it's supposed to do.

What We Believe

The values behind the work

Preparation over improvisation.

The best shoots are planned shoots. We arrive with a strategy, a shot list, and a clear vision so your time isn't wasted and the results aren't accidental.

Mission over mediocrity.

Meaningful work deserves to be seen — and it deserves to be seen well. We bring professional-grade storytelling to every nonprofit and ministry we serve.

Partnership over transaction.

We show up as partners, not vendors. We care about your goals, your audience, and what happens after the camera stops rolling.

People over projects.

We didn't start Blindspot Media to build a business. We started it to serve people well — because we genuinely believe that when the right story gets told the right way, it changes things. Your story is worth telling — and we take that personally.
